Paul Davies, Debunk GmbH Zurich-based Paul Davies has two decades' experience at General Motors in Global and Regional leadership in Labour Relations and HR Management in Europe and North America, and starting in 1997 became the car giant's lead on the company's pioneering HRO initiative which impacted over 75,000 employees at GM Europe and beyond. Chris Roebuck Chris Roebuck is a leading global expert on improving organisational performance through people. Eve Godoy Eve is Regional HR Outsourcing Practice Manager for Wipro. She is responsible for growing Wipro’s BPO business in HR for Europe.
Eve has over 20 years experience in Human Resources and has worked in a variety of generalist, specialist and project roles. As a Senior HR manager she led the development of HR processes and systems across Europe, including the functional implementation of SAP. For the last 6 years she has been working as a regional leader in HR Outsourcing and in this role she has built end to end HRO propositions across a variety of industries. She has contributed to product design, identification of alliance partners, and technology suppliers and worked closely with her US colleagues to ensure the HR offering was compliant and fit for purpose in Europe. She was part of the sales team that won ExcellerateHRO's first end to end HR deal with a global pharmaceutical company.
Dirk Olin – Vice President & Editorial Director, SharedXpertise Dirk serves as editor-in-chief of all the company’s content businesses. Dirk is an internationally-recognized journalist and editorial leader who over three decades has served as National Editor of The American Lawyer, Editor of California Lawyer and The Daily Journal, reporter at The New Republic, book editor of Congressional Quarterly and columnist for the New York Times, Newsweek.com, Washington Post and Wall Street Journal, and broadcast contributor at KQED-TV. Peter Brown is Accenture’s global growth and offering lead for HR BPO and Learning BPO. In this role, Peter is responsible for ensuring that the offering is relevant to client needs, managing investment in the offering and for working with new clients to ensure that solutions meet client requirements and can be delivered in a measurable, repeatable and predictable manner.
Prior to this role, Peter was responsible for sales and the solution architect capability in Accenture Learning BPO Services and he was the lead solution architect on the learning component of the Unilever BPO contract. Before IBM, Sarah held management positions at ACS Global HR Solutions and Motorola. At ACS Global HR Solutions, she worked as a Director of Business Process Redesign/Privacy involved in the HR business support function, HR information systems programme management, business process redesign and data protection/privacy.
At Motorola, she worked as EMEA HR IS Programme Manager leading a department of systems and process professionals based in eight locations in Europe and the Middle East to deliver and support coordinated initiatives of HR information systems. Earlier in her career, Sarah worked at Mars as a Senior Business Systems Project Manager, European Telecoms Manager/Business Systems Manager, and Acumen Customer and Sales Support Manager.
Sarah holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology from Imperial College, University of London, and a Masters of Science in Operational Research from Strathclyde University in Glasgow.
Chris Lomer is currently project manager for Avery Dennison’s Multi country payroll implementation initiative. Chris has been with Avery Dennison for six years, holding positions such as Payroll Manager, southern Europe, and more recently European Compensation & Benefits project manager where he was responsible for execution, planning, alignment, facilitation and project management in key Compensation & Benefit/payroll work as well as the administration of certain aspects of related programs in line with the pan-European HR synergy model within Avery Dennison. For the past two years, Chris has led the multi country payroll project full time and is shaping the European payroll strategy and delivery model for Avery Dennison.

Mike Friend, Director - Director, Employee Research, Harris Interactive Mike Friend leads Harris Interactive's Employee Research group and is responsible for driving global best practice in all aspects of employee research and benchmarking. Mike joined Harris Interactive from M3C Consulting, an Human Resource services research consultancy which he founded. Previously he worked as a management consultant in Deloitte’s Human Capital practice where he helped to deliver major public and private sector HR transformation programmes. His 12 years experience in the research industry includes six years as Research manager at IDC, where he established and led the European Human Resource research practice. He was voted an HRO superstar in 2005 and 2006.
Mike Gibbs, EquaTerra Mike has over 25 years experience, within industry, with a BPO provider and Consulting, covering Business Operations, Management, Technology, Shared Services, and Outsourcing. Mike has advised companies on shared services and technology implementations in Europe and Globally, and was a critical member of the Exult implementation team for BP. Mike’s subject matter expertise includes extensive international operations experience with Schlumberger, living in UK, USA, Latin America, France and Spain, as well as operational HR and Shared Services. Mike has a Masters degree from Oxford University.
Gary Madden, Cadbury and Co-Chair of HROA EuropeGary has worked for Cadbury for 12 years. He has held various HR roles including setting up and running Cadbury’s UK HR Services operation. Gary currently leads a global Program that will see Cadbury roll out a common and single SAP HR platform globally. The Program started in October 2007 and will finish second quarter of 2010. By the end of the program over 60 countries will be on a single SAP HR with self service in multi language. In addition in some of Cadbury’s biggest markets the implementation partner will take on some HR administrative operations. Gary holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Queen’s University, Belfast.
Faye is the European Managing Director of SharedXpertise responsible for all Forum and Summit programming, management and sales activities. She also serves as the Executive Director for the HROA’s European Chapter and is based in the UK. Faye has a broad experience in management, marketing, business development and sales and is tasked with expanding the scope and reach of the European operations. Previously, Faye spent 8 years at IBM and was involved in a range of projects relating to emerging markets in Europe and across the globe, including responsibility for Marketing and Communications of IBM’s Managed Business Process Services business in Europe. Wolfgang Brickwedde is a Senior Director Recruitment EMEA, reporting to the Global VP Recruiting, responsible for the recruitment needs of SAP in EMEA.The HR Operations goal is operational delivery of standardized HR Services. This includes specialist delivery teams in Recruiting, Reporting, Mobility Consultants, Portal Governance and Design and Payroll.
Before joining SAP, Wolfgang held management positions at Royal Philips Electronics in the areas of Employer Branding and Recruitment for various countries. Before that, he founded his own company for sales promotion for computer hard- and software. Wolfgang has a background in banking and holds a masters degree in Business Administration from the University of Hamburg. He is the speaker of the board of the dapm (association of employer branding in Germany) and a board member of the HR Alliance. Wolfgang joined SAP in 2007.

Max Donley, Senior Vice President, Human Resources, MedImmuneAs senior vice president, human resources (HR), Mr. Max Donley is responsible for providing business-integrated leadership and delivering professional tools, programs and service to optimize MedImmune’s human capital investments worldwide. James Montgomery, Director, HR Business Partner EMEA, Verizon BusinessJames has 20 years professional experience in a variety of market sectors including, engineering and consultancy, leisure and latterly 10 years in networked communications. With generalist experience from the mergers and acquisitions, outsourcing deals, organizational re-structuring and reward management James currently supports the European sales organisation for Verizon Business including the people management of large outsource deals with a range of clients from investment banks to retailers. Terry Terhark, Chief Executive Officer, The RightThingTerry Terhark began his career in 1984 as an executive recruiter. Following his entrepreneurial sprit in 1990, he founded Selective Staffing, Inc., an innovator in recruitment process outsourcing that quickly signed on General Electric which led to many new clients. Sonia van Ballaert, IBMSonia is Director, HR & Learning Europe for IBM’s Managed Business Process Outsourcing line of business. In this role, she is responsible for developing HR & Learning outsourcing offerings and for driving marketing and sales of those offerings across Europe. She took this commercially focused position after having been solutions leader in Europe, responsible for the solutions architecture and deal engagement on major bids.
Sonia moved to HR & Learning outsourcing in 2006, after having been a Partner with IBM Business Consulting Services (previously PricewaterhouseCoopers). In that role, she sold and delivered several complex HR business transformation and human capital management assignments for global clients and has a strong track record in organizational change as well as strengths in all HR processes and HR service delivery. In total, Sonia has nearly 15 years of experience helping clients transform their HR & Learning organization in order to align strategy, processes, technology, and delivery with business goals.
Sonia is a Belgian national who spent 10 years of her professional career working in the USA, Germany, Scandinavia and Morocco. She holds a Ph.D. in the humanities from the University of California, Berkeley where she taught for six years and also collaborated on research in adult learning.
Eric Lesser, Research Director, IBM Institute for Business ValueEric Lesser is the Research Director and North American Leader for the IBM Institute for Business Value. He is responsible for a global team of over 50 professions responsible for driving IBM’s research and thought leadership on strategic business issues.
Previously, he led IBM Global Business Services’ research and thought leadership in the area of human capital management. His research and consulting has focused on a variety of issues, including workforce and talent management, knowledge management and collaboration, and the changing role of the HR organization. As a consultant, he has worked with clients in the financial services, legal, technology and government sectors on a number of knowledge and organization change issues.
Mr. Lesser speaks frequently on a range of human capital topics and has edited (with Laurence Prusak) Creating Value with Knowledge: Insights from the IBM Institute for Business Value, published by Oxford University Press in 2003. He has also edited Knowledge and Social Capital and co-edited Knowledge and Communities, both published by Butterworth-Heinemann in 2000.

Mr José Milano, AXA FranceJosé Milano is Director of HR Development at AXA France. In this role, he is responsible for developing HR operations and service delivery, company resource planning, HRIS as well as reengineering recruitment and training departments. José has had a number of senior HR positions within AXA, working in various fields including Strategy, Social Development and Training. He was notably Senior Executive Vice President Learning & Development at AXA Group from 2004 to 2007, in charge of defining an executive training strategy and offer for the 300 Top Executives of AXA.José holds a diploma in Economy and Administration from Ecole Normale Supérieure in France and an advanced degree in Sociology of Organizations at the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris.
Mr. Gary Standen, Lt Cdr RN, UK Ministry of DefenceLieutenant Commander GARY STANDEN Royal Navy, is a Training Requirements Manager within the Defence Training Rationalisation (DTR) Project Team, based at the MoD in London. Starting his Royal Navy career as a Junior Air Engineering Mechanic he spent 19 years as a helicopter engineer, progressing to the rank of Warrant Officer Class 2, prior to commissioning as an Air Engineering Officer. As an Engineering Officer, Gary has progressed to his current rank through a variety of operational tours, Headquarter support roles and acquisition assignments. Having a broad range of experience and understanding fully how essential excellent training standards are to the delivery of effective military capability, Gary is ideally suited to his role within the DTR Project Team where he has been working for the last 14 months. His current role includes managing and co-ordinating the MoD contribution to the Training Management and Support transformation aspects of the project, working in partnership with the Metrix consortium, the programme preferred bidders.
Paul Swinscoe – Director Sales & Marketing, RatheyonPaul Swinscoe is Director of Sales and Marketing Europe for Raytheon Professional Services LLC (RPS), a unit of Raytheon Company. Delivering more than eight million hours of custom training in 28 languages to learners in more than 70 countries each year, RPS is a global leader in training services and outsourcing. RPS improves clients’ business performance by redesigning how they train their employees, customers and partners; implementing their new training design; and managing their training in long-term outsourcing engagements.
Paul is currently responsible for ensuring that Raytheon’s learning solutions meet the needs of a wide variety of clients and among them clients from the Automotive Industry as well as the UK’s Defence Training Review Rationalisation Program. He has been involved with that program since 2002, and was instrumental in developing the winning training solution.
Paul’s extensive program management experience spans across the corporate and military learning arena.
He began his career with British Aerospace in the aircraft design office before becoming a pilot with British Airways. In the USA he joined Hughes Flight Simulation rising to Software Engineering Manager, responsible for development of commercial and military flight simulators.
His expertise in creating large scale engineering designs, led to his career transition from engineering manager to program management and subsequently to business development. He was a key contributor to the establishment of the General Motors, Europe, Academy. This highly successful outsource provides extensive training services in over 20 European countries.
Paul has subsequently led several strategic assessments for clients on the future of their learning organizations. Today, he leads RPS’ EMEA Sales and Marketing efforts across EMEA to expand Raytheon’s training presence in defence and commercial markets.
He is a qualified Raytheon Six Sigma™ Specialist.
John G. Higgins, Founder, Higgins Learning Group John Higgins currently serves the learning industry as a thought leader and innovator. John is active in the HR & Learning analyst community and HR & learning industry organizations. He has led global Learning Innovation Forums and the HR Cross Client Forums. John’s current areas of focus and research include: virtual worlds for collaboration, serious games for learning, social media & collaboration, and increasing the business impact of HR & learning. There is a U.S. & European patent pending for John’s work in the field of measuring the impact of learning on business results. His work in the development of a Business Measurement Framework offering has been recognized with an Accenture Inventor’s Award. John has been named by HRO Today magazine as a 2009 industry superstar for his contribution to innovation in the field of HR & Learning. John also serves as a corporate coach, assisting his clients in optimizing their individual and team performance.
Most recently John served as the global Senior Director for Accenture HR & Learning BPO Services. Prior to his time with Accenture, John served as Chief Learning Officer for BearingPoint, Inc. John received his Master of Business Administration with a major in international business from the University of Miami, and a Bachelor of Science in management from Nova Southeastern University. John is an active member in his church with his wife Tammy, and he enjoys time touring on his motorcycle.
Frank Wolfsteiner – Partner & Managing Director, TPIMr. Wolfsteiner, Partner & Managing Director of TPI's CHRO and CFO Services EMEA, brings an extensive background in systems and process design as well as marketing, with particular focus on business process outsourcing (BPO) and information technology (IT). His expertise spans all areas of human resources (HR) systems and business processes, outsourcing and offshoring. Frank has in-depth knowledge and experience in leading business process redesign and enterprise resource planning implementations for large multinational organizations along with focused, fast-tracked systems implementations. Prior to joining TPI, Frank worked for the Trestle Group as global partner supporting clients to achieve optimal offshoring and outsourcing solutions. He held several leadership positions in Deloitte’s global outsourcing advisory and delivery team and built and operated Deloitte’s India offshore centre in Hyderabad. Dr Anthony Hesketh – Senior Lecturer, Lancaster University Management SchoolDr Anthony Hesketh, BSc, PhD is Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor in the Management School at Lancaster University. His research focuses on capturing the impact of people and strategy on organizational performance. Anthony researches and consults with some of the world’s leading organisations on strategic human capital management and its measurement, and outsourcing. Recent books include The Mismanagement of Talent (Oxford University Press, 2004), Understanding the Performance of HR (Cambridge University Press, 2009) and, with Cary Cooper, Paul Sparrow and Martin Hird, Leading HR (Palgrave, 2009). He was the founding Director of the Centre for Performance-Led HR at Lancaster – which has amongst its members some of the UK’s most influential HR Directors, a founding member of the HROA Europe Board, and for which he heads the Research & Publications Committee. Anthony regularly speaks at international conferences and sits on a number of advisory boards in the HR space and is editor of the Human Resources Business Review (HRBR) and sits on the editorial board of The HR Director.

Gill Aldred – Sr. Director Consulting Services, Brookfield Global Relocation Services LimitedGill Aldred has more than 19 years experience in International Human Resources management & assignment administration in both corporate and consulting environments. Over a period of 10 years, she held a variety of corporate positions in the oil industry in Houston, Texas, including Director of Personnel for an international division of the Baker Hughes organization. Gill joined Brookfield GRS in London in 1998, where she was involved in the management of compensation and assignment management projects for a major blue chip client.
In 1999, Gill returned to the United States and joined the Consulting Services group where her corporate experience and subject matter expertise have brought a high standard of business-directed skill to major implementation projects. In addition, Gill provides valuable input to a variety of international projects undertaken by Consulting Services. She remains in the Consulting Services group and is now based in the Brookfield GRS London office.
Gill has experience in all areas of international human resources management and assignment administration including implementation project management; policy development; compensation and benefits management; recruitment and cross-cultural training. She has lived and worked in the United States, the United Kingdom and the United Arab Emirates and spent over four years living in Nigeria. In addition, Gill has been involved in implementing and managing international HR projects in North and South America; South East Asia; Africa; Australia and the Middle East.
She has a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in Social Anthropology from the University of Manchester, United Kingdom. She is married and currently lives near Cambridge in England.

He has 20 years experience in the staffing industry having previously worked in a variety of senior managerial roles for three of the world’s largest staffing companies: Select Appointments, Vedior and Randstad. Paul Harrison, VP of HR Global Shared Services and Outsourcing, Sun Microsystems.Paul is responsible for HR operations and service delivery across 50 countries and the management of one of the most extensive global HR outsourcing contracts in the industry. Paul has had a number of positions in Sun including HR Director, EMEA and international assigments in the US and Asia. Previous to Sun, Paul held senior HR positions at GE and Unisys. He has a degree in Economics from Bristol University and is a Fellow of the Institute of Personnel and Development. He lives in Hampshire with his wife and enjoys country walking and many sporting activities such as Tennis, Football and Cricket.
